FAQ:
What times do you have available to show horses? I do have help with the riding and showing of horses so we have appointment times during the week and limited weekends available.
What is your sales policy? I operate on a first come first serve basis to appropriate qualified homes. I do my absolute best not to pick favorites and honor the first come policy. Essentially what that means is that I do not hold horses. Horses are available until they are paid for in full. If vetting is actually set up (scheduled with day/time) we will hold for that vetting if within a five day time frame. We continue to show the horses until the vetting is complete and payment is made. There are many reasons that people may pass on a horse during a vetting and another customer may be perfectly happy with the results of the said vetting. It is also common that people back out of vettings or simply change their mind before a vetting which is why we do not take horses off the market. That does mean a horse may be sold to someone who buys the horse sight unseen before your appointment to come and see it. I will always let you know before you make a drive out to my farm if a horse is sold. I do my best to notify everyone right away that a horse is sold. I realize it can be frustrating to have a horse sold that you wanted to come and see but many of mine do sell to buyers who are comfortable with the buying sight unseen process. If you have any questions please let me know. I like to say that there are always more horses and if I sell one you are interested in then I will do my best to find you another one!
Vetting Policy:
Once we have agreed to move forward with a ppe it should be set up for within 5 business days.
The buyer has 2 business days at max to decide if they are proceeding with the sale after the conclusion of the ppe. A quicker response is greatly appreciated as horses often have a line.
A non refundable deposit of $200 once the ppe is scheduled will hold the horse for you through the vetting. This simply means I will not sell the horse outright or have a sooner ppe set by someone else while we are waiting for yours. The deposit will be applied to the price of the horse. This is a non refundable deposit, so in the event you decide not to proceed with the sale or ppe for any reason it will not be returned.
You can chose not to put down a deposit while waiting for the ppe however, that means someone else might decide to purchase the horse outright before your vetting.
What payment methods do you accept: I take paypal, venmo, cash app, zelle, cashiers check and wire. Personal checks on a limited basis and must clear before horses leave.
Do you have a list of vets in your area? I am in Delaware and they aren't as many vet practices as in larger areas but I do have a list of vets and you are welcome to have your own vet come if they are in the area where they can travel to me. All the vets do digital xrays. Most are very comfortable vetting for customers who can't be present for the vettings. They typically will do the flexions, lunging, etc and then call to discuss the results before proceeding to anything else.

Do you ship or have a list of shippers? We do ship within a 3-4 hour range and can often do longer trips depending on the schedule. I have many shipping contacts and can also help you get shipping set up. I have many horses that ship long distances. I will hold the horses for a week at no cost while shipping is arranged but after that it is $25 a day until horse is picked up. List of recommended shippers here- https://benchmarksporthorses.com/list
We have a 7 day pick up policy after your payment has been made. We have a very busy barn with limited space and are unable to hold horses past seven days. There is a $25 a day fee for anything that needs to stay past the 7 days post purchase.

Zander is our latest arrival. He is a 7yr crossbred (I am assuming dutch harness) around 16h maybe a smidge bigger. He was a driving horse. We got him out today and started him lunging but we are pretty sure he isn't broke to ride. We will be starting him with some lunging/etc. These pictures do not even do him justice. This horse is drop dead gorgeous with the prettiest head/eye.

Everyone keeps asking about this big boy :) We finally got some ride video of him. Kodiak is a 7yr 17.3 h cross. I do not know what his breeding is so all I can do is guess. I was told dutch x but I think it can be tough to tell. These are all imports from Canada. He rides and drives but obviously mostly driving experience.
He is a very large uphill horse who is truly big but with his neck set on so high he just seems even taller. I think he is the coolest darn mover and I am obsessed with that canter. He has an incredible hind leg and shoulder reach. We have been doing a bit of work lunging him to start to show him he can stretch and think about using some different parts. He is super smart and catches on very quick. He isn't a hot horse if anything he is a bit behind the leg more because we are asking such different things of them.
He really had a nice ride today and I am very proud of the work he did. It is very different for them to use their bodies this way so it is just slow and steady not to overdo it. He really wants to get a bit stuck in the corner in the canter so Justin was just riding him forward. He will sit and collect but right now we want him to just think about the forward so he can start to put the pieces together. I just think he is so cool. I can't wait to see him start to change as we teach him how to use his body differently. Bet he can jump with that hind leg!
He has been excellent for shipping, clipping, baths, hot shoes, turnout, in his stall and everything else. He is big but extremely mannerly.

In Jessica's field of toys you will meet Waylon who I found myself buying in an online bidding war :) I see why auction prices are so high because I very much did not intend on spending that much but I really liked this horse! He had been bred, raised and trained by awesome TB people. They own the stallion (a TB) and his dam (Clyde). Waylon grew up doing all the right things. He rides english, western, has been on trails, through water, around farm animals, kids, worked cows and more. They very much put a great start on these horses.
Out of all the draft crosses, I really like a clyde/tb. I would say Waylon is going to probably be 16.3 when done as he is a smidge over 16h and doesn't turn 3 until May. I think he is stunning and put together so nicely. These crosses are light and can be upper level mounts when crossed with a nice TB. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/waylon8 is his breeding.
I really like his movement. It started to rain as soon as we went out so more to come later! https://youtu.be/YTqyqHTmR08

Calypso is just plain fun! I really don't know a ton about his job before I imported him besides that he rode/drove and had done a bit of everything. I think he is just a horse that people can get on and feel comfortable riding around. He is still green but he is safe and always relaxed. We only have a few rides on him so going out xc was just a bit of a chance to see how he was off the farm. As you can see he was just casually cruising around the whole property on the buckle at the walk. He had to wait for another horse to go so he just spent some time strolling and was super content.
He loaded/unloaded well. Stood great to be tacked and mounted. Justin was riding him for the first time so they had a bit of time just getting to know each other. I am not sure if he had ever jumped XC jumps but he really took right to it! He was once again brave, willing and quiet to and away from the jumps. He got a bit tired at the end since it was so hot today. Quite different that the Canada weather he is used to and he isn't that fit so he just ran out of puff. Totally normal and we were just thrilled. Here is his xc video https://youtu.be/ql5wkm2hlOM
Calypso is a 7yr 16.3 h crossbred who I imported from Canada. No, I do not know his exact breeding.
He has been very good for shipping, clipping, baths, grooming, turnout, in his stall, hot shoes and everything in between. He appears sound, no injuries and has no vices.

Everyone is hoping to find that horse you can go XC with one day, do a dressage test another, go trail riding with friends on the week and just generally be that throw on the trailer go have fun kind of all around horse. He will be competitive but he is also safe! He just gives you the feeling that you can do anything. You think that jump over there is scary?? Well he doesn't. You need to cross a bridge or some water he says no big deal. You want to throw western tack on him because you want to just chill he is is down with that.
Wyatt is a 16.3 h 5yr crossbred gelding. I do not specifically know his breeding but he will fit right in with the WB's without a doubt. Yes, he is imported but from the humble roots of a cow farm in Canada where he both rode and drove :) Maybe that doesn't sound "fancy" but I can guarantee this one comes with a lot of varied experience that makes him quite mature for his age. Did I mention he also drives? He is multi-talented for sure lol! I think we are all hoping to find the ones that have the talent but also the brain. The brain is just lovely on this one and the talent shines through in his limited training with us so far.
His movement lends him to straight dressage but he is light enough with enough blood to event/jumpers/hunt/etc. Maybe he isn't going to do a 5* but then again most of us don't aspire to that either. He should win the dressage and jump around. He is uphill, soft, balanced, incredible hind leg and powerful while all being sane. I doubt he has a ton of undersaddle training before coming here so I have found him truly impressive in his trainability. He is just eager to please with an incredible work ethic. Everything we have introduced he just picks up and comes out the next ride ready for something new.
He hacks out quietly. He has been introduced to jumping and thought it was all quite fun. He is brave and willing. If you just want to trot to the jumps he is happy to do that or he will quietly canter as well. You miss your distances he has your back! He has handled traffic in the ring coming at him and behind him like it is all no big deal. He is calm under chaos. Very content to stand quietly and watch as other horses go around as well.
We threw him on the trailer for a trail ride where he went out in western tack and calmly walked around for two hours going through water, across bridges, puddles and more. He was quiet, brave and just relaxed. He eagerly jumped some logs and just was one of those horses you can truly enjoy riding out and about. https://youtu.be/GBQPonmNCI4 see trail horse footage
He is a horse that has his own engine without being a hot type. He is still green but the greenest thing about him can be that he tries to convince you he can't be straight in his shoulders in that first five minutes of the ride. You need to be able to sit him down and half halt so if you aren't there in your riding ability he won't be for you. There is a lot of movement and power in his engine so you have to have the ability to put that all together. His power in that canter is just so cool but at this point you have to help him a bit with finding some compression.
His manners are lovely. Ships, clips, crossties, good for grooming, baths, turnout, in his stall, etc. He will do anything for food. He has a very huge personality. He has no quirks and no vices. He is sound and barefoot. I do not have xrays but I cannot see any reason he wouldn't vet very well.
Get yourself a fancy WB type way cheaper than import and bring him along. I think he will be a standout.

Some horses just come off the track and you think wow if it was always this easy than everyone would be doing it. Brooklyn Girl is one of those horses you get on and she makes you look pretty because she just does everything right! See latest video and intro to jumps here https://youtu.be/wvjLwbcy1WA
Brooklyn Girl- 5yr 16.1 h mare sired by Blofeld out of an Afleet Alex mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/brooklyn+girl This lovely mare had just run before arriving so while we did a quick eval she also got a chance to just settle in. She had 25 starts for 144k on the track. Retiring sound, no injuries and has no vices.
I have had multiple horses from this breeder/trainer and they are all just so well started that it makes our job so easy. She stands quietly in the wash stall, enjoys grooming and baths, excellent in her stall and turnout, great for shipping, tacking, mounting etc. Never puts a foot wrong. No marish behavior. Just extremely easy in all respects.
She was lovely in the free area but as I expect she was even nicer under tack. We just had a little bit of time but we honestly didn't need much time because she was just one of those horses that you hope to have coming off the track. Came out soft, over her back, great shape, super balance, good off the leg and just professional. Didn't even look at any of the crazy fillers under the jumps or the busy ring. She just naturally makes a good shape and is a soft fingertip kind of ride. Super nice canter and just overall a very lovely mover. I thought this was about as good as a first ride can go and you can tell she will just get better as she lets down. She is a stunning mare with a gorgeous head. Really athletic and well put together.
Got back on for ride number two and just WOW. Stacy loved her because again she is just a horse that is soft, balanced, good in the body, off the leg, moves laterally and extremely well started. She picked right up where we left off last week. Then we introduced her to popping over poles, flowers, fillers and finished with cantering a little jump. Brilliant mare!!!

ET's Kit Kat- 16.3 h 4yr mare sired by Emperor Tiberius out of a Candy Ride mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/e+ts+kit+kat Kit Kat trained but did not race. She has been off the track since May of 2024. She does have a registered work making her RRP eligible.
Kit Kat came to us about a month ago in super rough condition but she is feeling so good! She has been packing on the weight and her feet look awesome after adding shoes. I bought her not exactly realizing she was in such rough condition but I saw something very very special in her riding videos and boy was she worth the time. She obviously still has a bit to go but shouldn't take long now!
This mare can seriously move and jump!! We are just getting her fit right now but what a mover she is even being underweight and lacking muscle. She is very nicely uphill with a super hind leg. Just love the way her neck comes out of the shoulder. She does get a bit behind the bit here and there and she is pretty forward thinking so the hind leg can push down her front end right at this moment but that will all some as she gets stronger. We changed to the duo bit which she liked a lot better. She has such a great balanced canter.
We just had to see her over a fence and my lord yeah I would very much like to hold onto this one for a bit but now suspect everyone else will see what I saw in her from the first video. Wow! This one is going to have a very special jump on her.
So far she has worked her way right up onto the favorite list with my riders. You sit on her and you just know this one has all the right pieces to be big time.
Just give me a few more weeks to really get her glammed up and she will dazzle!
