Smitten is a stunningly gorgeous 16.1 h 4yr clyde/tb mare that I bought from her breeder. We have just absolutely adored this mare from the minute she arrived. We have had her for many months now and have truly done a ton with her! I am shocked she is still with us but also not complaining because she really is one that anyone can ride. She had a fantastic PPE and is back to looking for her person.

Sometimes it is hard not to get frustrated when PPE's get a bit off base. I thought Smitten had found her person. It was tears of joy during the test ride. I had zero doubts she would vet great because I have had her in my barn for months and prior to that she came from her breeder who was a vet. She did vet great with perfect flexions and films but a month prior she had a little upper respiratory gunk which we treated with recommended antibiotics. It seemed to resolve and I didn't think anything more of it. At the PPE, there was maybe a little smell in the one nostril. She got scoped, xrays, etc in case it was something more and there was "possibly" something seen on a tooth but teeth xrays are notoriously hard to pinpoint. She has never had any issues with teeth, bridle, bit or anything to make me think there could be a tooth issue but a potential issue scared off her buyer. I rescoped and we saw a little pocket of gunk which of course cultured to indicate the drugs we treated with were not going to work. Switched to another and should be good to go but what a roller coaster because horses ya know.
She feels and is going like a million bucks at home so we ventured off for her 2nd xc school before Windurra closes for the season. Smitten has always been a favorite of all my riders and Justin took the ride today. I thought she honestly looked better than ever! This is just a heck of a nice mare in every single aspect. Her flatwork is lovely, easy jumper, perfect changes, fingertip control, soft, uphill and adjustable. She is as soft as you could want. She will gallop and then whoa with a touch of the finger. She always comes out eager to work and just loves her job. She trail rides with the best of them. She is just plain fun!
