Wicked Luck “Kermit” is a 2022 16.3hh IDSH gelding by Pairadox Cassanova and out of Wicked Strong (TB) mare https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/wicked+luck. (50% TB, 25% ID, 25% WB). His sire is a 16.2 hand Irish Sporthorse. With a perfect blend of Irish, Dutch, TB and Hanoverian he brings to the table temperament, athletic ability and conformation for both the high levels of dressage and jumping. Pairadox Cassanova's sire is the late “Banks Fee Daniel” who is by the notable eventing/Jumping sire Skippy. “Skippy” produced the outstanding eventing sire “Jumbo”. Pairadox Cassanova is Grade 1 NASTA performance tested. The highest mark of the test from a record entry and was ranked within the top 25% of the United States Equestrian Federation leading sire of show jumpers list. Pairadox Cassanova's dam is by the notable Dutch Hunter/Jumper sire Popeye K and who is by world renowned Jumper sire Voltaire. I think his Tb lines are top notch as well for a sport horse!
I bought this one from his breeder a few months ago as a resale project because he looked so lovely and well he was really cute. I realize color/markings don't matter but I am just a sucker for a star/snip 🙂 We got him going and he really is just as lovely as I had hoped. He had a tiny ocd come up in a vetting after I got him which although maybe we shouldn't talk about seem like just a very normal thing to find in a large 3yr. He was sound but I just went ahead and took it out because why not? He is back to work and just never missed a beat which is another reason I love young horses. The time only benefits them! His vetting was very good and he should have any UL career if you so chose to do one with him.
Kermit was nicely started by his breeder and we have continued his training but in the ring/fields and out hacking. He is just a horse that is lovely in the bridle, good off the leg, super balanced and quite consistent. He has an exceptional brain for a young horse. He does not mind crazy chaos happening on the farm/cats/dogs/horse coming at him/behind him, horses lunging in the ring, horses jumping in the ring with him, etc. He is relaxed and will stand quietly just observing which we like to do with our horses so they just hang out and watch other horses sometimes.
I think he is just such a lovely mover and just continues to get better as he gets stronger. He has a canter you could ride all day long! He is so adjustable. We have very very lightly introduced him to jumping some small fences in the ring and out in the xc field just to mix up his work. He is very willing and relaxed about it all.
Kermit is a lover in the barn with a big personality. He does still like to play with things and is overall just a playful personality. He was a little nippy so we do not hand feed him treats to make sure that doesn't become a thing. He is good in turnout, stall, wash stall, bath, grooming, tacking, mounting block etc.
He is sound. He has no vices. He is currently barefoot. He is an easy keeper. I suspect he is growing again and should mature over 17h if I had to guess.
