We're Even- 6yr 16.3 h gelding sired by Golden Lad out of a Stephen Got Even mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/were+even4 Even ran 15x and has been off the track for over a year. He was bred, trained and owned by the same connections his entire career. Retired sound, no injuries and no vices. They reached out because she had hip surgery and isn't supposed to be riding. He was just too nice of a horse to be sitting around!
She had done some light riding, popped over some jumps, hacked around the fields, etc with him for the past year but he isn't super fit right now. I honestly saw the picture of his face and was like yes absolutely before I even watched his adorable videos. He just has the kindest eye and I love his big old head! Right now he could use some weight and muscle but again he is a big horse that hasn't been doing a whole heck of a lot.
I have to be honest, looking at him I wasn't exactly sure if he was going to be fancy in terms of movement but I was wrong about that! The canter on this one is just wow!!! Yes, that was him in our bareback with a halter videos just cantering around circles yesterday. Did I mention the great brain??? He just came out in a ring full of horses into a very spooky ring and was like cool whatever. He strolled around just on a loose rein. He wasn't really sure about contact at all or using his body but within 10 min of a gentle explanation he transformed into something that was cute into okay this is really fancy! Sure, we aren't there just yet but everything I needed to know I saw very quickly. He also is super content to just go on the buckle as quietly as can be.
We even popped him around a few jumps and just plain adorable!!! It's going to be crazy hot so we just wanted to see what he was all about so he could just relax until the weather calms down.
He has been great for shipping, clipping, baths, grooming, tacking, mounting and all the things so far that we threw out him just a morning after arriving. This one is NICE!!!! His connections very much would like to follow him.
