Valor is just an exceptional 3yr 16.1 h clyde/tb cross. I was really thrilled his breeder/owner let me take him on to develop. He came to us early spring and has just been turned out until recently when we started him back. She very lightly started him as 2yr but he was handled so nicely from birth. He is an out of a really really well bred TB mare and sired by a clyde stallion that is just WOW!
He was so very lanky on arrival and I think he has a ton of growing left to do but he is starting to look more like a horse now. He is just one of those horses that is born with that good good brain. He has all the good attributes of the draft mixed with the athletic nature of the TB. This horse is a freaky good mover with an exceptional canter. Combine all that with his looks, movement and brain and and this one for the future. When you ride him it is hard to remember he is just a 3yr because he rides so very mature. The balance, shape, hind leg and overall feel he gives really will make you grin. He is so trainable and honestly that is one of the best attributes I can pick in a horse. He is game for anything. Just so rideable and willing.
You really just get a good "feel" when you throw your leg over this horse. I think he is the type that can and will do it all. He truly has the talent to do the upper levels in my opinion but also the brain to be a hunt horse or truly anything. He is kind beyond words. I cannot even begin to describe the good nature of this horse. I just adore everything about him. He does all the things-shipping, clipping, great for the farrier, grooming, tacking, lunging, mounting and the list goes on.
Sound! Recent PPE. Does have two old cold splints. No vices. He was purchased and returned because he was chewing on wood. I do not have wood here but I have not seen any chewing behavior. I do feed really good unlimited alfalfa here and I did treat him for ulcers after he returned. It simply could have been that the trip stressed him a bit and they did not treat him for ulcers.
