Finn aka Tuckaway Finnley is coming along so well! He is a 3yr 15.3h connemara/tb sired by Coud Poker Tartifume https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/tuckaway+finnley that was very lightly started prior to arrival and has just been the easiest horse to bring along. To be more than honest, we do very light work with him because he is just a very quiet easy type that doesn't truly need to be doing a lot. He is one of those horses that is just so darn lovely on the flat that you watch him and feel like he could do hunters but could do eventing/dressage as well. He is steady, consistent, balanced, lovely transitions and just plain easy.
I just love watching the young horses come along and he has just transformed into something quite special and truly we aren't even getting started yet. He has gained so much confidence in himself. He is developing a forward button. He is really starting to enjoy the jumping! We ride him out in the open more than the ring because I think that truly help promotes going forward and he loves the sense of adventure. In the beginning, he was just such a "baby" but now he is starting to just mature and understand having a job. I just love the process.
Now that all the button are installed he will do some off the farm trips. I just did not want to overwhelm him too much in the beginning. He had never traveled prior to coming to us so now that he is finding everything so boring we will add in more.
Finn has been as sound and hearty as this breed is known to be. He is barefoot, easy keeper and just overall easy. He has a massive personality and is a bit of a character. I call him a bit of a sour patch. He can make a face at you one minute and want to be your best friend the next. He loves toys and still in a bit in that baby everything in the mouth stage.
I think he is going to be so special. He has the brain and the talent now just to continue to develop it!
