Sully is a 5yr 15.2 h palomino draft cross gelding. He has an excellent western start neck reins, good sliding stop, spin moves, whoa dammit button, backup, nice transitions, etc. I always say that I LOVE a good western broke horse but I try to remind people all that good training can be the buttons are sensitive. We LOVE these types but I find we do need about a month to make them more horse shopper friendly unless you are used to a green horse that you need to give five minutes of quiet soft riding to until they take a good deep breath. If none of that made sense to you, he isn't the horse for you!

He had had two really great sessions in western tack and today he headed out in english tack to the jump field where we introduced him to jumping. If you are a geek like me the video is so cool to watch him learn about the jumps from the tiny baby logs to finishing over the bigger stuff where he actually was like oh wait JUMP got it! This horse is a super super cute mover. Lovely use of his body. Great mover. Soft transitions. Stays right in your hand. Just the good kind of broke. You can see him scoot about minute 9 when he jumps the black pipe and I think he is probably going to do that move for a bit until he figures out his new job. If that move bothers you, he isn't for you because in my experience sometimes they just have a quick scoot. It's nothing silly but again we are experienced and quick to just redirect it.

He was so so brave and willing about the jumps! Again, I am sure it's his very first time every seeing jumps and he really was as good as I would want one to be.

I really really like this horse. He reminds me of a fancy connemara. I think he is a draft x of sorts but light, athletic, nicely uphill, balanced, sporty and fun.

Sound, no injuries, excellent feet and has just been lovely with everything so far.
