Special Man- 3yr 15.3 h gelding sired by Weigelia out of Rule by Night mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/special+man2 If there ever was a horse that lived up to the name! I saw this one pop up and I absolutely LOVED the breeding. I have had some super horses by this sire and that dam line is special as well. He had 5 starts (very slow!) and last raced on 3/45/26. Retiring sound, clean, no vices and no injuries. She sent me the jog video and I thought wow this horse will be so incredible.
He arrived here missing a shoe with a big old scrap on his leg where the shoe was missing so I am sure he did something silly in turnout. He has just been hanging out for a few days and finally got his shoe back on today. We had a million things going on so we just tacked him up and took him out for a quick lunge and then first ride. I will get more conformation pictures later. He stood quietly to be groom, tacked up, etc. Great at the mounting block. Lunged around perfectly as well.
I popped up to see him lunging and was like holy smokes that thing is a freaky good mover! Then you see him go under tack and tell me that one isn't something big time! 3yr on his first ride that goes like that....yes PLEASE!!!!! I mean sure he is pretty but I don't care what color they are when they go like that. I always say that I buy the breeding and his paper says he will go exactly like the does. There was another horse going around and he was great with all that. When a first ride goes like this it seriously just makes your whole day. This horse really is just special as his name suggests. Uphill, super mover, incredible hind leg, three unbelievably nice gaits and just the brain. It takes a really good TB to be competitive against the WB's and I think he is one!
I will be getting more pics/video as we can but I do think he will not last long. Very excited about him.
