Sonoma- 5yr 15.3 h clyde/hackney mare. Sonoma also came down from her breeders farm in Canada. They have had a breeding program for many many years producing this cross. I honestly didn't have a lot of experience with them but have come to appreciate the lightness they add to the draft. They are super athletic, lighter, uphill, good movers and just nice types.
Sonoma is lightly started and has been hacking out on the trails and doing some light ring work. When they are in Canada they primarily are raised in big 100 acre fields so I always feel like it must be an adjustment coming here. We worked her in the round pen a little bit before getting on her so I think she got tired super fast not being that fit. I really like her and she looks like she is going to be quite the fancy type. Our first rides are always just a quick evaluation of what we are starting with so they are just what you see is what you get kind of rides but also a great way to see what we start with. I keep a playlist of all my videos which is always fun to look back at because you really get an idea of the true progress of all our horses from first rides until they are purchased.
Sound, no vices, no injuries, barefoot and easy keeper!
