    Perry- 5yr 16 h shire/qh gelding that is absolutely stunning, sweet and just so darn fun to ride! Perry was actually a horse that I had back in October of 2025 but he moved into a new home super quickly! He was vetted at that time with xrays of front feet. He has since been doing lots of trails up and down the hills of Vermont, some ring work and other fun stuff. I jumped at the opportunity to purchase him back when he wasn't quite the right fit for his owner who decided a young athletic horse at her stage in life wasn't the best.

We have been doing a ton with him already from trails, xc, hound walking and more where he has been just so darn awesome! He will be doing some more hound walking and hopefully hunting if he is still here. He really thought the hounds were cool. His first xc schooling was holy smokes amazing. Talk about a horse that truly was adjustable and brave to all the jumps. He most recently competed this weekend in his first jumper show taking home champion in some really less than ideal conditions. Think a very wet sloppy ring with huge puddles before and after the jumps along with lots of people with umbrellas (horse eating umbrella's). He is new to jumping but just went into the big ring and rocked around the course so bravely. I don't think he had ever seen a double but he was like cool I got this in typical Perry fashion :)

I would say the greenest part in his training is his jumping because he truly has just been introduced to jumping but holy smokes what a jump he has! I really like the shape he make and he just continues to figure out where to put all his parts. I love that he remains very quiet and rhymical to and away from the jumps. He also does not get flustered when things go wrong which is very important!

Perry is the type of draft x that is athletic enough to look the part in the show ring. What a beautiful mover that just makes the prettiest shape. I think he is so darn fancy!

I had seen so much video of this horse doing everything and anything from english, western, trails, pushing cows, carrying flags, tarps and more which is in his video album. He came from out west as a 4yr where he had a lot of actual ranching miles being put on him. Herding cows, roping, river crossings, flags, tarps, etc. He is what we call good broke :)

Even though he is still young, Perry carries himself like a seasoned veteran. He rides with the kind of maturity and steadiness you normally only find in older horses. Under saddle, Perry is soft in the bridle, willing to learn, and extremely well broke. He neck reins easily when ridden western and stays light in the bridle with an easy headset. His lope is smooth and balanced. He catches both leads easily making him comfortable for long rides in the arena or out on the trail. Whether you prefer to ride in a saddle or bareback, Perry is equally steady and sure footed. In english tack, he could throw down a winning dressage test today!

This gelding has also been exposed to plenty of real world experiences that show off his versatility. He has been roped off of and will confidently drag a calf. He has carried the American flag with confidence. Out on the trail, Perry is the kind of horse you can count on. He moves through water, brush, and all kinds of rough terrain without a second thought. He is not spooky and stays level headed in new places and around new sights and sounds.

Around the barn and in the pasture, Perry is easy to care for and easy to get along with. He does well whether kept in a stall or turned out in the pasture. He had been living out 24/7 with his previous owner but here he comes in during the day. He stands quietly to be saddled, brushed, and bathed, and stands good for the farrier.

He is the kind of horse that I think everyone is going to be fighting to have in their barn because he truly can do it all. He will make you feel confident and you will have fun on him.
