Pencil Bluff is a 4yr 16.1 h colt (soon to be gelded) sired by Nyquist out of a Malibu Moon mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/pencil+bluff He was 310k yearling that ran 3x earning 910 dollars :) He simply wasn't interested. Sound, no injuries and has no vices. He does know he is a colt but he is very well mannered. He simply will talk to everyone when he is going by them however he rides around great with other horses in the ring. I don't recommend anyone inexperienced for these types simply because I do find that when they are gelded it takes about a month for them to start to act like geldings when it comes to being next to others and all that stuff. Now he is absolutely perfect for shipping, grooming, baths, lunging, tacking, mounting, etc. He has been turned out with others. He is right next to geldings. He has been handled by the best of the best so he knows his manners with the best of them but he is also racing fit and a colt :)
I posted his first ride because I thought he was one of the nicest Tb's I have had in a while. Justin and I were just like wow this once is just nicer than he looks. Right now he is a bit on the thinner side and I guess he just doesn't scream OMG fancy standing there looking at him. Then you see him move and quickly realize how special he is in terms of just being a wow mover, best brain and the canter you simply want to ride all day long.
We did his second ride today and honestly I don't know how you beat that first ride but it was just that much nicer. This horse is so light you don't hear his feet touch the ground. He floats on air and this is just ride two off the track. Justin was having such a great ride he just wanted to keep going. At one point I said ok that is good and he was like no I really have to canter another lap because this is amazing. So yes the canter truly is that dreamy. He is just soft and bendy everywhere in his body. He is super slinky in the way he goes. He can open and compress with the touch of a finger.
We popped him over the jump in the ring and just everything I needed to see what there!
Someone else saw what I saw on the first ride so he is currently sale pending with a line behind her at the moment. I just LOVE this horse and hope he really goes to do all the big things I think he will do.
