Paisley is just the cutest 14.2 h 8yr grade pony mare. She is another one that I bought off this facebook ad that read like this- I bought her and haven't done anything with her but was told she has done h/j, english, western, trails, play days and much more. I have no video and no more info so don't ask :) In real life, I am anything but someone who gambles but when it comes to horses I throw my chips in real fast. You got to play to win right???
Paisely spent the weekend in the glam shop. Teeth done. Worming. Bath. Mane pulling. The overall works. I think she would like a pair of shoes as her feet just look a little flat to me. Now really not knowing her history at all my first impression was she had learned some tricks to just intimidate and that mainly shows up going in the wash stall when she is like nope don't wanna and then when she decides she wants to exit she thinks she will just leave. I think she is coming around quickly with that but so far that is the only odd thing I have noticed.
We took her out today and treated her like a total unknown because the reality is you simply don't know. Western tack, little lunge, lean on her, clap the stirrups, swing the reins around, etc she was like guys seriously??? Get on with it.... but again you just don't know so we treat them like they could be naughty.
We were thinking yeah this one is really nicely broke and sure enough she was just super nice. She neck reins, cute mover, has a western stop on her, really nice transitions, good mouth and just makes a nice shape. She was very quiet and just super well schooled. I was feeling pretty high on life today having all my new purchases that were a bit of a gamble be super duper nice. This pony is quite fancy and I bet she knows a heck of a lot about all the things. Can't wait to continue testing all the buttons.
I talked about how with Paisely there wasn't a whole lot of details given besides her owner was told she had jumped, trail ridden, done english, western, play days and more but we are still in the process of testing all those things out to sort of just confirm her background. She is the most adorable 8yr 14.2 h black/white pinto.
She was just absolutely LOVELY western! I suspect maybe not as practiced english but hard to say. She is now walking into the wash stall like a champ and standing perfectly. Again, most of the times all that is needed is a little bit of a tune up/reminder.
We headed out to the field with her because honestly it was so hot and there felt like a little breeze out there. We just wanted to see if she jumped and OMG she is just the most adorable cutest darn pony you could ever want. I think this is the kind of pony everyone actually does want. Quiet, kick along, cute mover, cute jumper and just steady eddy type. If anything she has a bit of western "stop" built in which can be a bit tough for us english riders because they really have that whoa dammit button firmly installed :)
Obviously she was super nice western and just did a cute western jog/lope. I think we can teach her to be a bit softer/stretchy to be a fancy hunter type. More than anything she is just solid and safe. Not spooky, silly and more whoa than go.
