Mr. Tibbs is one of those horses that I haven't been trying hard to advertise because the reality is we would like to keep him in the barn. He is 4yr 16.3 h clydesale/hackney but I just encourage you to watch his videos because I think people may have a misconception about what that breed produces :) This is the fancy type that is also known for doing advanced driving with the fancy dressage. He doesn't have the up/down knee action. He was started super well with lots of long lining, ground driving and then progressed to driving in the marathon cart and was also doing dressage before I bought him.
His well rounded education in Canada out on the roads encountering traffic and learning to drive has produced a safe fun horse that everyone in my barn enjoys riding. I guess I am dragging my feet because I sell a LOT of horses and finding anything quite like this one who is talented enough to do so many things competitively but also hunt/trail ride/pack around any kind of rider is that mythical unicorn. They should cost a million dollars and honestly each time we go out and about on him I think I say he is worth a million dollars :) He has been xc, trail riding, to a horse show and went to a horse show facility yesterday to do courses we jumped at the show. There is zero drama ever with this horse. You could take him anywhere and put anyone on him. He is fancy enough to win but also safe enough you come home thinking damn that was fun!
We don't do a ton of jumping at home with him so what is so impressive is that he just always goes to new places and jumps anything you point him at. Even when you mess up, he is like cool whatever I got it. He loves going on adventures. He has a lovely jump, pretty darn consistent with his lead changes, great to flat. Super nice dressage. Loves trail riding. Absolutely rocked the xc schooling he did. He truly is just a gem.
For anyone asking if he rides light, he truly is a very light moving horse that is athletic. I think the hackney offers a lot of lightness and athletic ability. I mean will he go above a 1* probably not but most of us aren't either :) I think he could be quite competitive in dressage, will start hunting soon, easily should do training level eventing and so so much more.
I can't find one thing to fault this horse on in any aspect. He is just the best darn horse and I truly wish I could find a ton more like him.
No vices, no soundness issues, barefoot. Clips, ties, trailers, great in turnout, stall, etc. Just as kind and goofy as they come. Truly a love.
