Milo aka Meatloaf aka Meatball aka Tank and the list goes on and on :) He is a 4yr 16.1 h percheron cross. Milo was purchased by his former owner as a 18 month old and she just did the best job getting him started. She put together the best sales ad/photos/videos you ever want to see and she sent it on to follow him because she is very passionate about his future. Milo is one of those horses that I think someone looking to do a bit of lower level fun stuff will just absolutely adore. Trails, xc, foxhunting, etc. He is just the most sensible type that absolutely makes you feel secure with that big old neck and scoopy back. He puts you right in the middle and you just sort of stay there. He is like riding a couch. Looking at him you might think oh he isn't that athletic but I do think he has a super lovely balanced way of going. He is not that lazy to ride and he has a nice canter especially for a bigger draft type. He has the substance to carry a bigger ride with ease.
Milo is still green but is just that type that has the "draft" brain. Very quiet. Unflappable. Finds things fun not scary. His owner had done so much work with him playing games, playing with balls, tarps, lunging over jumps and so much extensive ground training that he is just really super good with all of it.
I do think he could be awesome as a police horse type as well. It takes the right kind to handle that chaos and he has the brain for it. He is curious without being scared.
Milo hasn't met a person he does not love or a snack he does not want to eat :) He is a big dog in a horse body. If you don't like a friendly affectionate type he won't be your jam. He is all about being up in your business.
He has been really coming along well in his training in the ring and has been traveling off the farm to trail ride. Getting in shape and we hope to take him to some hunts and ride in the slow field now that he is getting fitter and some more miles on him.
Milo is sound. No injuries. Small old cold splint. No vices. Located in Delaware. Will continue trail riding and some foxhunting coming soon.
