I truly have developed a love for the driving horses and I couldn't pass this one up! Mikey is an adorable 15h 4yr that I bought in Canada. He still has his road shoes on (pretty shoe job!) and came with ribbons braided in his mane/forelock. I am sure he was Amish and obviously well cared for in my opinion with his beautiful condition, feet, etc. I saw a nice video of him being ridden down trails, across obstacles, etc and he just looked sporty and brave. I have found these types just take right to foxhunting/eventing/etc. They are just fun and safe!

We took him for a brief spin last week before the heat hit and then today he went out to the field where he jumped everything out there like he had been doing it forever (I'm very sure he had never seen a jump!). I just adore these types because they have been so well started sure not to riding but it's easy enough to transition them and sometimes those driving miles really just expose them to a lot.  He just has taken right to his new role and couldn't be any cuter. He very quiet to ride more of a push type. Probably one of the quieter driving types. He is a bit on the go in the barn but I think he is starting to realize it's all quite boring here. He has been great with cross ties, grooming, baths, etc so yay for that! He is a little reserved but he is starting to come out of his shell. I enjoy the process of turning them into sport horses.
