Middleburg- 5yr 16.1 h gelding sired by Tapit out of a Tiz Wonderful mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/middleburg4 This stunning animal was a 485k yearling. He started his career on the flat running on the west coast then in 2025 he made the switch over to steeplechasing. He ran 16x for 80k. Retiring sound, no injuries and no vices. His trainer said he is the kind of Tapit that knows he is pretty but doesn't want to run compared to some of them that can be rather challenging to deal with but good race horses :) He last ran on 5/28/26 so he is essentially a week post race.
He shipped in yesterday and has just been extremely chill. Great for his baths, grooming, clipping, mane pulling, etc. Stands quietly in the cross ties. He was an absolute pro for his picture session today. We just got a chance to do his free school today and hope to get his ride video done tomorrow. His trainer told me this horse is exceptional in every single way. He is a big elastic uphill mover with an incredible canter/gallop. He can seriously jump as well. Everything I saw today confirmed :) Cannot wait to get this one going.
