Marine Patrol- 5yr 16 h gelding sired by West Coast (Flatter) out of a Street Cry mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/marine+patrol3
Marine Patrol had 34 starts for 54k last racing on 3/10/26. He is retiring sound, no injuries and has no vices. That pedigree for sport is just lovely and I have LOVED anything I have had by this sire.
Yes, this horse did easily clear a 5ft fence yesterday when we had him in the free area from a quiet cross canter :) Not to mention, he jumped it going up the hill where my septic system so it had to be close to 5ft. I had a ton of people messaging me and I basically said that he was a freaky talented athlete and no he is not crazy or anything of the sorts. Sometimes the really athletic ones do just decide to jump out. It gives me a heart attack each time though!
I think he is just a very very athletic talented horse that got a full clip job and was feeling good in the cold weather. He has super good manners. Ships well, cross ties, clipping, LOVES baths, grooming, etc. Has been great in turnout and in his stall. He lunges well. Stands quiet at the mounting block and does all the things. He is super duper sweet and personable. He strikes me as the kind of horse that will enjoy having a job. He is wicked talented but likely could be cheeky if not in a program.
He stood quietly today for his conformation pictures and as we expected this one was just something very very special for his first post track ride. The shape he makes in the bridle, the way he moves, the hind leg, the brain, etc just the total package. Did I mention he was brave and bold? I mean if the fence jumping didn't spell that out for you then watch him jump around all the fillers on his first ride post track. We don't jump every horse because some simply aren't ready but this horse is that cocky kind of brave that you just know is like yes I would like to do this thank you very much! Nothing hot or silly about him just pure enjoyment. Everything about him screams big time event horse to me. I like to think I have a very good track record for predicting those who have the UL talent and he fits my criteria for sure.
He does have some healing rain rot on his left side.
