Hudson is a 7yr 15.2 h draft x. I think I tracked down his original owner who said he not only rode but drove. He had also done quite a bit of trail riding which I expected. He wasn't quite a match for his last owner mainly because he can be a bit sensitive but honestly to me it sort of can be these draft x's. So far what I have found is he doesn't like you waving a whip around, he isn't 100% sure about the mounting block (not mounting just the block) and if you just randomly wave things around him he is like WHOA people what are we doing here :) I don't find these things uncommon and he is as solid as it comes riding wise so what I can say is you need a little bit of awareness when you ride him.
He was lovely on his first ride and today we did a little lunging to show him where to put his parts. He was even better for mounting! He isn't worried about you going up it is more just the mounting block which really can be weird to many of them.
He was just so darn cute today much softer over his back already and boy does he just make the cutest shape ever! Such a nice type and he is just plain steady to ride.
We played around more with the jumps and some of them he really showed the jump that is going to be in there! He was very brave and willing to the scary fillers which is all that I can ask for on probably his 2nd time jumping. He is just beyond willing to try anything and even when it isn't perfect he never gets bothered.
I think this one is going to be the coolest sporty type!
