Gus is our 4yr 16.1 h percheron cross gelding that we got unstarted but with all the foundation put in making him as easy as it gets. There are horses that are simply born quiet and Gus is one of them. Gus is one of those horses that even from his first ride being totally clueless you could have stuck him behind some other horses and went down the trail. Gus has zero cares to give about anything. He spends most of his day sleeping and you will always find him with the biggest droopy lip possible on a horse.
Justin has spent the last month really putting a great foundation on him working on forward and steering which he is starting to put together. Sometimes when you are riding a really quiet horse you spend more time making sure that horse really does go forward so people somehow think he is fast in our videos but that is because that is something we work to install on our young horses. You really do want them in front of the leg to start because then when you start picking up the reins they will understand back to front which you can now see coming together as Justin has started to ask for a little more connection/steering/etc. This horse truly is quite fancy but also has that brain I feel like everyone is hoping to find. He is a total big derpy gelding that is just going to be chill all the time.
He has been off the farm to trail ride where he will lead, follow, go through water, over bridges, past traffic and more. He rides english and western.
He really just has the best best brain and is so sweet. Everything has been done right on this lovely horses. Easy keeper, barefoot, no vices and no injuries. Sound! Kind, sweet and very much a love. He is going to be the easiest young horse in the world to continue training. I have him affordable at this moment before we do a ton more but we have a lot planned with him coming up! Come on fall weather......pretty please!!
