Guapo Juanito is an absolutely stunning 3yr 17 gelding sired by Unified (Candy Ride) out of a Malibu Moon mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/guapo+juanito When I look at these pictures it honestly doesn't even do him justice but he is fit and super big so I think just giving him a bit of let down to fill out and holy smokes he is going to be even more stunning!
I know everyone had been going crazy over him but when he came here I thought his ankles look like they had been blistered so I wanted to make sure I grabbed xrays, got a bit better story and worked him enough to give an honest assessment. The reality is that some trainers just throw a blister on a lot of things. His xrays did not show anything requiring a blister but it sure irritates the heck of the legs :) I was also told he was galloping barefoot and they just recently put shoes on him. The state vet said she watched him go at least three times and he always looked good. He trained but he wasn't showing talent to race. He is a very big horse who maybe would be a runner in another year but of course time is money which we all understand.
Everything about this horse is wow. I put in in the free area two times and he just blew us away! The canter is just dreamy but I mean he is the total package.
We happened to be doing his first ride right as the tractor trailer was unloading sawdust and there was a horse in the outside jump field being ridden. I think that was not the best timing but let me tell you he was just perfect. We just kept saying WOW! I mean he got nicer and nicer as we went. He is such a big horse with the longest legs but when you got him straight in the shoulders it was like holy smokes this thing is BIG TIME. That hind leg, the way the neck comes out of the shoulder, the natural shape he makes, the canter/gallop. Not to mention the darn brain on him because come on I don't know if all horses would have handled that chaos with the class he did. He just kept going to work and trying to figure out all the questions.
He is beyond fancy but also has the brain we all hope to find. I mean the looks sure don't hurt either :) He is so stunning.
He has been so darn good since arriving. Shipped great. Settled right in. Great eater. Good in stall, turnout, cross ties, baths, tacking, etc. Very mannerly which is key for a big horse. He has such a kind sweet personality. Horse shoppers keep stopping by his stall to give him loving because he is a bit of an attention grabber.
