  Granite is a 4yr 16h friesian/percheron draft cross gelding. He was part of the group that my husband brought home when he went to meet his breeder. Granite was not broke but was well handled. We had started backing two others so we hadn't quite got to him just yet. However, someone came to see all the horses this week and said we would like to buy him but can you get him started at least just riding him around before he goes? No time like the present :)

His breeder was telling us that he used to have a contract with the government and most of his horses went to police units. I can honestly see why. They are some of the easiest darn horses that I personally have ever worked with in terms of backing. I mean I think my riders are awesome and do a great job but these horses truly just could care less about any of it.

I likely will return for more after we get done getting this bunch started because the brains on these horses simply cannot be beat. If you are looking for truly quality types of draft crosses that will do any job they are those types.
