  Gearhead- 10yr 16.2 h TB gelding sired by City Zip out of a Dynaformer mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/gearhead Gearhead raced on the flat and over fences. He spent the last few years of his career as a steeplechase horse. He retired in 2023 after 31 starts for 159k. Since then he been hanging out in his trainers field. Sound, no vices and no injuries his trainer felt like he was a waste to not have a job. Justin Lee has taken him on as his newest project horse.

This is a big bodied/boned stunning horse! He honestly looks much bigger than 16.2 just because he is built like a tank! He truly was just living in the field for two years and he had been barefoot so there are some superficial cracks on his white feet. He now has front shoes on and they will just grow out but structurally his feet are actually quite nice.

Having been a steeplechase horse, they took him all over to jump school and work on grids. He went to indoors and outdoor rings. He has years of hacking out so that is all normal for him. He has been excellent for shipping, grooming, baths, lunging, mounting, clippers and all the things. Obviously great in turnout but is loving his stall now!

He is just coming back to work so he has started with some light lunging, done one ride and a trail ride so far. I think this is a heck of a fancy type for someone who wants a nice horse with a smaller budget. Yes, he is a bit older but with age comes lots of experience! When they go like this already after two years hanging out you just know what they have to offer. Such a stunning stunning type. That canter is dreamy. Quiet type. More of a leg ride.
