  Diamond Rio is a gorgeous 5yr 16h percheron cross gelding. He had mainly been a trail horse prior to coming here ridden western with nice quality miles on him. He is now jumping xc, trail riding with us and jumping in the ring. This one is very much a quiet packer type although I think he still need some polish with his flatwork. That part we can do easily but boy does he just do any job you ask of him!

Rio has been excellent for shipping, baths, grooming, turnout, in his stall, tacking up, mounting and everything we have asked of him so far. He is very personable and easy to handle.

His first ride was in the ring where we just tested all his buttons and determined he was super cool :) What a nice mover. Type you can ride on the buckle or ask to be a bit soft. We did one lunge session so far but we will work on getting him to figure out where all his parts are when the weather isn't quite as ridiculous.

Today he headed out to the field to see what he thought about popping around xc jumps. Most of the times these trail types don't know much about jumping but I always find them so willing and they are brave. He was exactly that starting out a bit wiggly and then just cantering around like yeah no big deal to all the jumps just quietly. Then he finished up by giving a young horse a lead all around the field.

We took him on a big group trail ride where he absolutely demonstrated his experience leading us anywhere and everywhere. He simply just goes through any sort of terrain, water, bridges, traffic and so much more. He will go all day for you! Happy to walk along if you want but very good about galloping and then coming back to the walk.

He the jumped in the ring over the new course of fillers. I am sure this horse doesn't have a lot of jump training but he is just one that goes. I really do mean he just jumps anything you point him at. He is like well that looks weird but sure okay let's do it. He is quiet trots in soft and lands soft. You just point him and he goes. He very much has that packer mentality and will be the type that is super tolerant of less than perfect riding.
