Cooper- 4yr 16.2 h Belgian TB cross gelding. Cooper came to us primarily with driving experience and he has come along so nicely. This is just a super uphill nice moving athletic draft cross that will be a super prospect to bring along for eventing/hunting/jumpers/etc. Everyone who sits on him is actually a bit shocked how nice he feels as I do think he rides a bit different than he looks. He may look a bit heavier than he is in my opinion because under tack he is one that rides very uphill, light, balanced and sits beautiful in the connection. He has been with us for several months now and is just progressing beautifully!

He is well started on the flat. He moves super nicely off the leg. Three quality gaits. LOVELY canter! He is soft, uphill and light. This is NOT a heavy horse in any way. He is soft, bendy and very nice in the bridle.

He is started jumping in both the ring and in the xc field. He is an athletic jumper but also very quiet, respectful and soft over the jumps. He is willing and he never gets rattled even when things aren't perfect. He is quite forgiving.

He is not a dead head because he is a horse that moves off the leg and will respond to the leg but that being said he is a quiet horse. He is the same horse regardless of how often he is ridden. He is used to dogs, traffic of other horses, farm equipment and so much more.

He hacks out quietly and enjoys trail riding. Excellent shipper. Ties to the trailer. Good in groups and has been out solo.

Cooper is excellent in the barn. Ties, baths, grooming, stalls, turnout, etc.

While people really seem to love Cooper when they get on him, I think he sort of causes a pause because he is "snorty." In my experience, some of these draft x's just snort and he is one that will walk by something in the barn and snort at it. You might move the mounting block and he snorts at it. Obviously because we know him we know that it is just him and doesn't mean anything more than Cooper being Cooper but sometimes it doesn't make for the best first impression :) This is not a horse that does anything wrong but I think because he can be snorty if you are the type of rider that thinks OMG he is snorting there must be something going to happen he won't be a match for that kind of rider. He prefers the type of person that is like OMG Cooper get on with it already let's go and then he is like oh yeah cool I am going.

Cooper is very sound, clean legs, great feet, no vices and no issues. He is a horse that I think will have the athletic ability of a TB while more of a draft temperament. He is super sweet and fun.
