Clara Belle- 6yr 16.1 h mare sired by Broken Vow out of a Lemon Drop Kid mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/clara+belle3 Belle started her career on the flat and spent the last several years running over fences. She was a stakes placed steeplechase mare. She had 29 starts for 100k. She last raced on 8/21. She retired sound and has no vices.
I am a HUGE fan of this breeding and honestly if her trainer tells me it's nice I just send the payment. She said this mare can seriously seriously jump but she jumps so big she isn't exactly the most efficient for running fast over fences. I will say that we got to see that first hand today when he cantered down to a xrail and she jumped about 4ft over it but in a way that was just so light and perfect you couldn't help but to say holy s**t. I mean you just know something is special pretty much right away but honestly my footage will do her zero justice. More to come.
Backing up...I mean just look at her! She walked off the trailer and I was just thinking now that is an athlete. She has been excellent so far with everything. Great manners. Good in turnout, stall, clippers, baths, grooming, etc. Super easy going.
She stood very quietly for two picture sessions today because I really wanted to try to capture her since it was a sunny day. She showed off elastic gorgeous movement in the free area.
She was just so lovely to ride. We really were hustling to just evaluate three new horses today so we didn't do her justice. We did a quick flat and she was just lovely. Super cute mover. Great shape. That neck!!!!!! Her canter is just so nice. Then we thought well let's just pop her over a few jumps. Justin is excellent about just trying to let them figure it out and she did leave a bit long and just leviate a few times but hey you know what she was game and we will just do some basics coming soon. I think it just shows all this horse has the scope and 5th leg that told me everything I needed to know instantly. He got off and said ok what is her breeding and where can I find one like this :) I mean we ride a LOT of horses. There are horses you just know are freaks of nature and she gives every indication she could be something that will jump a very very big fence.
