 Checkitup- 6yr 16h gelding sired by Curlin out of Ghostzapper mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/checkitup I mean need I write more after posting that pedigree haha!!! Seriously thought this one is so nice! He raced 35x for 99k and last ran on 7/30/26. Retiring sound, no injuries and no vices. Has a tiny pinfire mark over an old splint. This is Justin Lee's  new project horse and I suspect he won't stay long. Just so darn nice!

He has just been absolutely perfect for clipping, grooming, baths, fly spray, farrier, tacking, lunging and everything else. Great in his stall and in turnout. So easy you forget he is in the barn.  He is kind, sweet and so so quiet. He just seems like an old soul type! He was a 165k 2yr so someone thought he had the goods but he truly didn't amount to much on the track.

He was absolutely stunning in the free area then he just got a bit ouchy on his newly pulled hind shoes. Justin gave him a bit of light work on the lunge until he felt better and what a first ride. He was like don't video this it can be better but really??? I like to think this is a darn beautiful first ride. Stretchy, soft, super nice mover, quiet and can be with such a lovely soft canter. He rode around on the buckle just as nicely as he does in the contact. Great great brain on this one! Our pics/video isn't the best since a storm was rolling in. It's ultra buggy and humid this week.

We finally got a chance to grab some video when the sun was out because holy smokes look at this gorgeous horse. I think he would excel in the hunter ring but he could do anything. Such a soft shape in his body. Naturally just wants to carry himself. He started his intro to jumping today and really showed a lovely form and was very willing. This horse is QUIET like truly quiet. I feel like anyone could continue to bring him along.
