Barrolo- 6yr 16h imported TB gelding sired by Havana Grey (GB) out of an Oratorio mare (IRE) https://www.pedigreequery.com/barrolo . Talk about a special one! His trainer mentioned to me over the winter and I am very thankful to have him in my barn! He had just been turned out since November so he was barefoot (got shoes on after his first ride) and is in field kept shape but just stunning! He had a successful career over fences before being imported in late 2023. He raced twice fairly unsuccessfully here. He had twelve total starts. He is very sound but does have a tiny (so tiny!) old bow which will not inhibit his future at all.
I love that he hadn't been sat on since November and was just so darn perfect. I mean Tb's are always this good but new place that is really looky and he was just so soft and relaxed. This horse is such a fantastic mover! I knew he would move even better after getting shoes on and I think this second ride truly showed him off even better. Ava got on and was just saying wow he just gives you such a relaxed happy go lucky feeling. You can ride him on the buckle in all three gaits and when you do pick up the contact he is just a finger tip ride who just makes the shape all on his own. If dressage is hard for you or really not your favorite phase, this one could change your mind! He is so soft we will try the rubber bit out next time.
Obviously he isn't fit and needs to gain some weight/muscle but boy this one is really something that I think all of us would want to throw a leg over every day. He is just perfect in all regards. Great in the barn with clipping, grooming, baths, etc. Ships great. Obviously used to living out but happy in a stall. Super manners. Just a very very nice horse!
