 BAF True Bearing aka Sloan is my first full purebred Irish Draught. She is a 3yr mare about 16.2 sired by Gemstone Clover out of a Glenlara mare https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/baf+true+bearing I expect she will easily mature over 17h as her sire is 17.2 and dam is 17h. She hadn't done much at all in life before coming to us besides having basic handling which was great because she knows all about the wash stall, baths, fly spray and all those things! She is just as kind and sweet as they come. We love starting horses so I just thought she would be a great horse for us to get started and move onto her permanent home.

Despite having not had any work at all before arriving she has just been the easiest horse to start ever! She got here and had some hard lessons about moving her feet but in true Irish fashion once we got that lesson done she has just been absolutely brilliant :) I think she could be one to the easiest horses we have started here. Just zero drama about anything. Super kind, smart and willing. Quiet and just eager to please. We are really encouraging forward thinking with her right now as her tendency is to be a little on the lazy/quiet side which is not a bad thing. Lovely height, bone, feet and the brain is just unbeatable. She is athletic and a very good mover! Both her sire and dam are nice athletic types so I do not think she will get super heavy.

She is nicely w/t/c in the ring. She is great with her lunging and groundwork. She honestly is unflappable and I realize people are often not believer that young horses can be this quiet but many of them simply are who they are. I mean it's the whole reason people love the breed. She just does her job with no drama. She has already traveled off the farm for a trail ride where she led, followed, crossed bridges, went into the pond, past traffic and so much more. She loads and unloads quietly. Very content to just mosey along but also move out when asked.

Did I mention how sweet she was? She is the biggest snuggler and honestly just super smart. I have been so impressed with how quickly she picks everything up. I really think this is a special horse for anyone who is looking to have a very well nice purebred. Her brain lends me to believe she will handle the chaos that comes with foxhunting but also will have the bravery and athletic ability for eventing. She just floats and right now she isn't even that fit!
