Azule- 7yr 14.2h mare that has lots and lots of quality mileage. Azule is one of those ponies that I simply just love but I am the kind of person that likes a pony that is essentially the small version of a my favorite kind of horse :) Azule has competed in dressage, hunters and jumpers. If you like a sporty nice moving uphill type of pony than she will appeal to you. She is so darn lovely on the flat! You can put her together more like a dressage pony or you can connect her and then push her down and out more like a hunter. She is super soft, balanced and just naturally sits right in the bridle. She is a soft fingertip kind of ride so the flatwork is quite nice on her.
That kind of soft ride is really our favorite but she probably isn't going to be the best for uneducated hands. She can be a bit rooty if you start pulling on her. We have really fixed that but I can't promise it won't creep back in because some just like the ride they like. She has lovely balanced transitions. Moves so well off the leg laterally. She has a great engine without being hot. You can push her forward but also collect all with just using your seat.
She is not spooky or silly. She hacks out and really is the type that has so much miles nothing bothers her. She lunges like a dream. She has a great work ethic and always is the type that shows up to do the job.
I found her jumping to be a bit rusty in the sense that her shape was a bit upside down when we got her probably because she does have a very soft mouth. Now that we have sorted out the contact, did her teeth and have her making the right shape again the proper jump shape is returning. Now this is a pony that you can just dink around the jumps with but she is also a pony that you can get up and go on very easily so it really depends on the ride you give her. I do very much think she can do hunters but she can boogey and do the jumpers. She is brave and jumps anything and everything she has been pointed at her. We are working on just keeping her shape and rhythm to the jumps which has helped her regain that jump shape so I would say someone who can continue that ride.
We hope to take her xc soon and I know she will be amazing. She jumped our simply xc course like she thought it was the most fun thing ever :) Honestly, this is just a pony everyone here thinks is awesome to ride. The whole mini-horse thing because darn she is fun!
She is excellent in the barn or turnout. She is great in the crossties, grooming, baths, clipping, shipping and all the important things. She can be a little bit pushy on the ground but is easily reminded of her manners. She is sound. No injuries. No vices. Barefoot. I have not found her marish. Very personable and friendly.
