Armenian Dancer- 3yr 16.2 h gelding sired by War Dancer out of a Pioneerof the Nile mare https://www.pedigreequery.com/armenian+dancer3 Talk about another stacked pedigree for sport! This lovely horse had eight very dismal starts with only 3k earned :) He simply was not a racehorse and if you meet him it is clear that was not his forte. He retired sound, no injuries and has no vices. Last raced on 9/16/25.
I am a HUGE fan of all things War Dancer. I have had extremely good success with this bloodline all doing very well as event horses and having amazing brains to match the talent. His trainer just said he was the nicest horse and thought he would be a good jumper.
He has been absolutely perfect since coming in. He arrived in the dark and just walked into the barn like he owned it. Very much a relaxed kind of horse that is super well behaved about everything. He is a big horse and I suspect he is not even close to growing. He does look like one that will be 17h easily. He can be a little big "big" on the ground in terms of walking fast and powerful but that is the worse thing I can say and I am short with short legs so I have to remind him to slow down. Everyone who walks into my barn ask who is that??? He just has that "look." He is stunning and he will capture the attention.
He has a puppy dog personality and boy does he love to eat which is good because he is a growing boy. He gets very very excited for his food and then his naps. Massive personality on him :)
His feet were really in need to be done so we finally got to that yesterday so we could get started on his rides. As I expected, he was just as quiet for his first ride and as perfect as you could want a horse to be. Again, there was a horse being lunged at one point and then being ridden which can be tough for a first ride and he didn't care a little bit. This horse is QUIET! He is a lovely mover and boy that canter is so nice. I just love his walk/canter. I think there is a ton more trot in there but I also know he ran recently, just got his feet done and the track he came from is notoriously hard on their bodies. That being said he was already stretching down and beautifully going over his back. He is a horse that is just as quiet as you see him ridden. Just ride him in a bit of a shape or on the buckle. He was happily trotting and cantering around on a long rein just no big deal. Then you can see him parked there standing while Justin read messages on his phone. Whoa, wild baby TB on first ride!!!
This horse would be an excellent one for most people to bring along but I really do think there is quite a talented fancy one in there that just need another month to really go WOW under tack. Give me a few more rides and watch out! He just needs to learn where to put all his big baby parts but the brain and rideability is just as good as they get.
He has been excellent for shipping, turnout, in his stall, grooming, crossties, clippers, the farrier and all the things. He is a lover of a horse. I just absolute adore him.
