  Hank- 5yr 16.3 h draft cross gelding. Hank is the type of draft that I think people envision when they think draft cross. He is a horse version of a Labrador. Sweet and in your pocket! he hasn't met a person he doesn't love. He is curious and confident. I don't think there is anything that scares Hank. He is the type that will just walk right up to anything scary like hey cool what's this :)

They actually described him to me as that type of draft cross you can make all the videos of with the tarps, balls, etc because he simply doesn't care about anything. Hank had 120 pro training as a 4yr and then another follow up this year. He primarily has been doing the husband horse role and trail riding which is honestly just awesome! They said he will just go anywhere on the trails and is the type anyone can ride. She was like put anyone on him and he will just follow you trail riding all day which is perfect! Doesn't that sound like exactly the recipe for that hunt horse we all hope to find???

I love that they have all the out of the ring miles because to me that is so valuable. However, I do really like to get our draft x's as nice in the ring as they are out of the ring so Hank is getting an education in learning to move laterally, bend, push from behind and carry himself. He said that is cruel and unusual punishment but he has also been a very willing participant. We started with some lunging to just show him how to start to lift and carry himself. He is a very quick study as it is coming together under tack! These bigger horse are much more pleasant when they learn to be soft and carry themselves.

He is quite a nice mover and makes a lovely shape. He has that canter that can be hard to find in the bigger horses. He can really sit and carry himself. He is not at all fit so we are going slow and steady but I think there are some great glimpses of it there.

He has been awesome riding the the ring and out of the ring. He happily will pop over any jumps you point him at. So far he only "jumps" if they are somewhat big enough to convince him he needs to jump but that is okay. Right now it is more about just going forward and straight. He shows all the willing attitude and bravery I want them to have.

Hank is excellent for shipping, clippers, grooming, tacking, mounting, lunging, etc. He has been super in turnout and in this stall. He is sound, no injuries, no vices, barefoot and an easy keeper.

Hank has the LARGE personality. He really is just the sweetest and wants to be your friend.

I feel like he is the type that everyone is looking for and they are just so hard to find. There is not anything bad I can say about this horse. He is just straightforward and easy!
